Overview
Catarina Cavalheiro was born in Porto, Portugal in 1980, she holds a MSc in Chemical Engineering with a focus on bioengineering from FEUP (University of Porto - Portugal) and a Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering at the same university. She started her professional career in the R&D and Innovation Units of ENEL, moving after some years to the Engineering Department of Thermal Generation, where she is currently working.
Catarina's Fellowship research is based on: evaluating the applicability of low cost soil bioremediation technologies to treat the sites of the dismissed Futur-E power plants. If feasible, a technology /site characteristics matrix would be developed for internal use in other reclaiming activities.
