Salvatore Bernabei

Salvatore Bernabei is Head of Enel Green Power and Thermal Generation, Enel's business line that handles the generation of energy from renewable sources (through Enel Green Power) and from conventional sources. He also held the position of Head of the Africa, Asia, and Oceania region of ​​the Enel Group until July 2023.

After a brief experience as a consultant at Galgano & Associati, Bernabei joined Enel in 1999 as Logistics Manager for Enel Distribuzione and, subsequently, as Supply Chain Manager, Project Manager, and Contract Manager for geothermal and wind projects in Italy. He also worked as Project Director Assistant for the conversion of the Torre Valdaliga Nord plant. He then held various management positions in Enel Green Power in Engineering and Construction as well as in Safety and Environment units in Iberia, Latin America, and Europe. After a period as Head of Operations and Maintenance of Renewables in Iberia, he was appointed Country Manager of Chile and the Andean Countries for Enel Green Power and, afterward, Head of Renewable Energies Latin America. He was the Group's Head of Global Procurement from May 2017 to September 2020.

Bernabei graduated in Engineering Management from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He holds a master’s degree in Net Business Administration from the Polytechnic University of Milan, and he has participated in the INSEAD International Executive Program and in the Leadership for Energy Management Program at SDA Bocconi and IESE.

Salvatore is married and has two daughters. He competes in triathlons, he is a supporter of the A.S. Roma football team and is passionate about rugby. He loves to read books on history, economics, and geopolitics.
