In the frame of the strategic collaboration between Enel Group and MIT, Enel Foundation has joined forces with MIT Solve to support its open innovation efforts to find solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Solve and Enel Foundation will identify Sustainability challenges across the globe – including dimensions around energy transitions – and will search for relevant solutions to those challenges.

Everyone out there with a great idea to solve energy challenges, be it a concept a prototype or a pilot, needs the right partners to get it done. With the help of Enel Foundation, Solve offers these innovators in the field of clean energy the opportunity to access scientific advice, financiers, mentors, or business development advisors in order to help them implement solutions.”

Enel Foundation’s collaboration with Solve is another concrete step in addressing clean energy transition as one of the most impactful areas to speed up the sustainable transformation of our world. Global megatrends such as population growth, urbanization and megacities, climate change and digitalization are creating urgent challenges and unveiling possible solutions everywhere in the globe.
As part of the collaboration, a call for solutions will be open until July 1st. A Solve panel of judges, supported by Enel Foundation, will choose 15 finalists, ultimately selecting a Solver class. The winners will work from September 2018 to May 2019 on their business plans to solve the challenge.
