October 29, 2021

On October 11-13 CHARGE hosted its annual Energy Branding Europe, an event that aims to shape the future of the industry by sharing knowledge, connecting leaders and empowering brands to capitalize the energy transition. More than 300 energy decision-makers digitally attended this knowledge and networking event, organized a month before COP26, and +50 speakers contributed to the workshops and panels.

One of the workshops was organized with the scientific contribution of Enel Foundation and was dedicated to “Communicating the Climate Crisis”. Managing Director Carlo Papa opened the session, together with Deputy Director Laura Giovannini as moderator of the debate between Matteo Di Castelnuovo, SDA Professor of Practice in Energy Economics at Bocconi UniversityCarlo Giupponi, Full Professor of Environmental Economics at the Department of Economics, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Dean of the Venice International UniversityPaola Mercogliano, Head of Regional Model and geo-Hydrological Impacts Research Division, Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change; and Dr Fridrik Larsen, Founder, CHARGE Energy Branding.

As we try to tackle and prevent the most serious impacts of climate change, we need to pay attention to communication so to use it as a tool rather than turning it into a hindrance to sustainable development. Too often, academics, scientists and innovators are at the forefront of finding solutions but find it difficult to communicate effectively to policy and investment decision makers. By dedicating a track specifically to this subject, CHARGE aimed to allow influential academics and critical thinkers to share their experiences in leveraging research to inform and influence the critical technological and policy developments that will be central to delivering the energy transition.
