Enel Foundation is glad to announce a new Knowledge Partnership with Olade - Organización Latinoamericana de Energía, launched to support the development of research and training initiatives on the energy transition in Latin America. The partnership will combine the expertise of the Enel Foundation's knowledge platform with Olade's ability to engage key stakeholders, and will see its first collaboration during the sixth edition of the Energy Week (Semana de la Energia, November 17-24).

Run online by Olade and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Energy Week is a space for exchanging experiences and knowledge of the energy sector through the generation of business opportunities and project financing. It has become the main energy reference in the region, bringing together the institutional representatives of the 27 Member Countries of Olade and key energy international and regional stakeholders including, for this edition, keynote speakers such as Olade's Executive Secretary, Alfonso Blanco; the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Patricia Espinosa; the Chief of the Energy Division of IDB, Ariel Yépez; Enel Foundation’s Managing Director, Carlo Papa; and representatives of the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), among other leading authorities in the sector.

Participants will showcase the actions taken to achieve decarbonization pathways in their various fields of action. More specifically, during the event it will be discussed how the region should face the energy transition, through a process of electrification enabled by clean renewable energies and smart grids. The Energy Week will also delve into issues such as the importance of technological innovation (i.e. in minerals and materials); new energy vectors such as green hydrogen; investments - public and private - in clean technologies in a post-pandemic context, and the actions needed to ensure a just transition at the local, subregional and regional level.
