ITCILO Youth and Climate Academy 2022 launched

Enel Foundation is proud to support the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO) in their launch of the first edition  of the Youth and Climate Academy: Engaging in Climate Action for a Just Transition. The Academy, is an online training programme of lectures, discussions, exercises, and interactive exchange for young professionals, graduate students, youth activists, as well as young representatives of different organisations.

Over 90 participants from 46 different countries ranging from the Pacific Islands to Latin America and from Southern Africa to Europe embarked on a joint two-week learning journey to become thought leaders in shaping a just transition to environmentally and socially sustainable economies.

The Academy covers a variety of themes located at the intersection between climate change and the world of work. Renowned experts from international organisations, academia, the public and private sector, youth activists as well as civil society share their insights, knowledge and data on the impacts of climate change on our economies and societies and showcase approaches to positively influence the course of action. 

With the support of Enel Foundation, participants will have the opportunity to acquire and apply new skills to positively engage in policy-making and advocate for their cause – a just transition towards a low-carbon sustainable future build on the principles of social justice and decent work.
