Open Africa Power, the programme that every year from 2018 provides a cohort of young African Master/PhD students, researchers and professionals with the skills needed to trigger the sustainable energy future for Africa, is run in partnership with a series of high-level partners, without whom this venture would not be possible. As we have now reached the halfway mark of the 2022 Open Africa Power programme, we would like to express our thanks to the institutions that have supported us with resolute commitment.

Open Africa Power has received significant support from institutional entities such as: Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Iceland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs; NAMA Women Advancement Establishment. Their support to the Open Africa Power programme is framed within their broader activity in the field of development concerning the African continent. These three institutions, thanks to their long history of supporting sustainable development and social inclusion, are valuable additions to the Open Africa Power programme and we are extremely glad to have them at our side.

Grateful thanks are also due to our academic partners.

The Graduate School of Business of the University of Cape Town proved to be the essential supporter of our African Module, an 8-week module exploring the fundamentals of the global electricity sector through the lenses of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Florence School of Regulation just ended to deliver its impressive 5-month course providing the participants with a comprehensive vision of how to design the appropriate policy and regulatory frameworks needed to ensure sustainable energy for all.

The Politecnico di Torino, Politecnico di Milano, SDA Bocconi and Venice International University have a long track in supporting us with the development and deployment of the Italian Module. Thanks to these top tier Italian universities, participants explore the new frontiers of the electricity sector and experience first-hand innovation. In the upcoming Italian Module the participants will be called to: actively interact with prestigious academic partners and research representatives; meet with government, business, and non-profit leaders; engage in a dialogue around issues of Africa’s clean energy future; and visit sites of innovative electricity technologies.

To conclude, a special thanks to our co-managing partner, Sustainable Energy for All, at our side to build an inclusive and sustainable path towards for the future energy leaders of the African continent. Your relentless efforts in this partnership are of absolute value for us.
