Enel Foundation is pleased to announce the sixth edition of its Open Africa Power program, organized once again this year in partnership with Sustainable Energy for All. The announcement was made at a hybrid event during COP27 on 10 November at the SEforALL pavilion in Sharm El-Sheik.

The event discussed the opportunities available by further expanding Open Africa Power to put women and youth at the forefront of the energy transition, and the efforts to close the energy access gaps. It featured remarks from SEforALL and Enel Foundation representatives (our Deputy Director Christian Zulberti and SEforALL’s Senior Director Tracey Crowe), and a testimonial from Damilola Asaleye, Alumna of the Open Africa Power 2020 cohort.

Enel Foundation launched Open Africa Power in 2018, in partnership with top academic institutions, with the aim of training a new generation of African energy leaders. Open Africa Power is currently in its sixth year, supporting high-profile African students undergoing or having completed Master’s, MBA or PhD studies in African universities. The key academic partners include pivotal names such as Bocconi University, Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino, Venice International University, Florence School of Regulation and University of Cape Town. The program has also important institutional partners such as the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Iceland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs and NAMA Women Advancement Establishment.
