We are proud to announce the publication of the Global Youth Energy Outlook (GYEO), realized by Student Energy in Knowledge Partnership with Enel Foundation. This is the first global data collection project on young people's perspectives on energy transition and climate action. Data displayed in the GYEO is based on surveys filled by almost 42,000 young people (18-30 years old) in 129 countries across all the five continents. In addition, the GYEO collected the results of the Regional Dialogues, a series of virtual meetings between young energy leaders in different regions with the aim of developing a narrative on the multiple perceptions of young people on energy and climate.

According to the GYEO findings, 94.2% of the young people surveyed consider clean energy and climate change a priority, or at most of equal importance, to other global issues such as health, education, cost of living and gender equality. Furthermore, 87.2% of young people would like to undertake a job or volunteer work in the energy sector.

The GYEO also pays special attention to results at the regional level. It emerges, for example, that almost 75% of young people are "concerned" or "very concerned" about pollution and emissions caused by the current global energy system, and this is particularly evident among young people in emerging and developing economies such as Latin America (89.2%), South-East Asia (89.0%) and Sub-Saharan Africa (85.2%).

The aim of the report is to amplify the voice of young people around the world on their expectations of governments and companies, highlighting the solutions they suggest should be adopted. This report, which is solidly based on extensively collected and analysed data, thus proves to be a powerful tool that young people can use vis-à-vis decision-makers at institutional and corporate levels in the energy sector to ensure that their priorities are properly considered.
