Overview
Mechanical Engineer, born in Bergamo (Italy), former Rector at Politecnico di Milano and President of CRUI (Conference of Italian University Rectors). He graduated in 1992 and got his Ph.D. in 1996. From that moment on, he has served "PoliMi" first as researcher and professor, then as Head of the Department of Mechanican Engineering and Rector's Delegate for Technology Transfer, finally as Rector from 2017 to 2022. In the course of his career, he has written more than 240 scientific articles and held 7 international patents. In 2019, he was appointed "Commendatore della Repubblica Italiana", a great honor and a responsability that he finds reflected in the eyes of the students and researchers of his university, in the commitment of the companies, institutions and citizens at their side. A big community based on knowledge, competence and respect to which he is still contributing as President of MOST - National Center for Sustainable Mobility.
