Enel Foundation joined Solve at MIT, the annual flagship meeting of Solve, which convened more than 300 innovators from around the world to advance solutions to pressing global problems.
One of the distinguished event guests was Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who delivered an inspiring speech on how diverse teams can work together to tackle great challenges and help shape the changes transforming society.
During the event, the 2017 Solver class was showcased, and Solver’s teams presented their solutions to some of the global Challenges previously launched. Workshops with Solve members enabled the class to develop partnerships to pilot and implement their solutions. The presence of foremost leaders from corporations, foundations, nonprofit organizations, government, academia, and the media provided an opportunity for immediate impact.
Enel Foundation facilitated a working group on Sustainable Urban Communities, one of Solve’s 2017 Challenges. In this interactive and action-driven session, Solver teams presented the progress they have made since being selected at the Solve Challenge Finals. Participants discussed the Challenge and advised Solver teams on ways to advance their solutions.

Since its inception in 2015, Solve has selected 66 finalists, or Solver teams, from eight Global Challenges. The Solver classes include individuals from 23 countries, 42% of whom are women.
