“The Italian Forum of Energy Communities (IFEC), launched by the World Energy Council (WEC) Italia and the Energy Center of the Politecnico di Torino, will hold tomorrow the First IFEC National Conference in collaboration with Enel Foundation as Knowledge Partner. The aim is to promote the best practices to maximise the environmental, social and economic advantages on the territory, while sharing at the same time the projects launched during the year.
Autonomous Consumption (AUC) and Renewable Energy Communities (CER) can significantly accelerate the energy transition process to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of 2030, relaunched by the European Union first with the New Green Deal and recently with the Commission's "Fit For 55" package, which raises the ambition of the Union's climate and energy targets. The event will serve thus as platform for discussion of the best practices adopted nationally and internationally, awarding an annual recognition to the Italian AUC/CER initiative with the most national traction in terms of technological and social innovation, and of efficient use of resources and land.
Giuseppe Montesano, Enel Foundation’s Deputy Director, will contribute together with other speakers to Session 1 on the relation between energy systems and energy communities. Other sessions will cover regulatory, technological and social innovation aspects, and hands-on AUC/CER experiences on the territory. Vannia Gava, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Ecological Transition, will wrap up the event. Read the full agenda and all speakers here and register to follow the live streaming here.
