May 22, 2023
Between May 23-25, we will celebrate the conclusion of the third edition of Planet Needs YOUth, a project launched by ISPI with the scientific support of Enel Foundation. The program aims at encouraging young people to play a central role in the debates on global challenges. The project, developed in 2021 as part of the initiatives for the Italian Presidency of G20, has the objective of further stimulating discussions on key international issues and to promote the creation of innovative proposals to tackle the most relevant changes occurring in our world.
Planet Needs YOUth has involved more than 500 selected university students from Italy and across Europe, who took part in the Interactive Youth Forum, during which they had the chance of discussing key international issues, including human rights, space economy, energy transition and artificial intelligence, with high-level speakers.
Participants also accepted the challenge of a digital Competition, during which they were invited to develop an innovative advertising campaign on one of the following topics: the need for taking action against climate change, a possible way out of today’s security crises; living in a world with AI.
The 40 winners of the Competition have been appointed ISPI G20 Global Ambassadors, and will take part in the G20 Simulation Game, in Milan on 23-25 May. The Ambassadors will play the role of the Sherpas during the simulation of the G20 Summit organized by ISPI, and they will also have the opportunity of taking part in the Global Policy Forum in Milan, an international event co-hosted by ISPI, Bocconi University, OECD and T7Japan.
