Michele Crisostomo, the new Enel Chairman, is a lawyer and leading expert in the field of banking, insurance and financial regulation.
After working at Clifford Chance for several years, he joined Consob for a year, only to then return to Clifford Chance and become a Partner at the firm. In 2009 he set up the legal office of RCCD based in Milan, Rome and London, where he remains a Partner.
In his professional career, he has helped banks, insurance companies, and other Italian and foreign financial intermediaries in the issue of shares, bonds, convertible instruments, and products for retail customers as well as liability management operations.
He also has a thorough knowledge of the regulations applicable to financial intermediaries on capital adequacy and significant experience in capital strengthening operations, including the issue of hybrid and subordinate instruments.
Mr. Crisostomo has also dealt with the regulation of market abuse and the related sanction procedure, as well as the regulation of ownership structures.
His legal work has earned him the highest rankings in the main international classifications (Band 1 for Chambers&Partners, Highly regarded for IFLR1000, and Hall of Fame for Legal500). He was also a board member at Ansaldo STS.
