Enel Foundation’s Scientific Committee member Manlio Covielo, Chief of CEPAL’s Natural Resources and Energy Unit, was co-organizer for CEPAL of the 8th [LATAM] Political Dialogue meeting on Energy Efficiency, in partnership with OLADE (Organización Latinoamericana di Energía) and the BID (Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo) under the auspices of the Government of Argentina.
Carlo Papa, Director of Enel Foundation, acted as panellist at the meeting’s session on “Efficiency and the Energy Transition – efficiently interconnecting the region with renewable energy” where he presented an Enel Foundation project - in collaboration with CESI - focused on exploring scenarios of deployment of renewables, by improving cross-regional interconnections and technological progress in the LATAM region.
Present at the forum representatives of 15 regional governments and 13 multilateral agencies who agreed to accelerate the implementation of new policies to promote the efficient use of energy resources in Latin America and the Caribbean also through the establishment of a regional organization for electricity market design and planning.
