Vienna, November 6th to 8th 2018

European Utility Week, the platform event for utilities addressing the top questions for energy professionals and business leaders across the continent, will have Enel Foundation as its Global Knowledge Partner for 2018 edition, taking place in Vienna 6-8 November. Organized by Clarion Energy, this year’s event explores four key areas in the European energy landscape: Digitalisation, Decarbonisation, Energy Markets and Innovation.

Enel Foundation, in line with its scientific research and dissemination efforts to exploit the power of knowledge for a clean energy future, is the Global Knowledge Partner of European Utility Week 2018 for the first time.

The event will feature discussions on the main themes defining the future role of Utilities with high level speakers and experts exploring topics in panel discussions and keynote addresses. Themes to be covered include resiliency of energy supplies in a context of decentralisation and decarbonisation; e-mobility challenges and opportunities in relation to the electricity grids; the latest on blockchain applications in the energy trading, and on the progress towards a low-carbon future. Evidence of emerging business models of the future will also be shared, while giving special attention to developments in the cybersecurity space and to the ongoing adaptation of energy-intensive users to the changing energy markets.

“We are delighted to work with Enel Foundation for European Utility Week 2018 to deliver great content at the event and beyond it. The partnership will contribute to European Utility Week’s ambitious role in facilitating the shift towards clean, efficient and smart energy in Europe”, commented Paddy Young Director of EUW.

Dr. Carlo Papa, Director of Enel Foundation, added, “as Global Knowledge Partner of European Utility Week 2018, Enel Foundation will provide research-based support to the elaboration of the conference’s main takeaways and  disseminate them to our network of academic and institutional partnerships  making sure to create positive legacies in the race to a clean energy future”.

The current partnership follows similar participation to other relevant industry events such as Electrify Europe and POWER-GEN & DistribuTECH Africa 2018, and builds on Enel Foundation expertise and track record of research accomplishment on the core issues of the ongoing industry transformation. Moving forward, both events will be included in the portfolio of energy events by Clarion Energy and Paddy Young further commented, “this is really just the starting point of the collaboration with Enel Foundation as we are now looking to develop this partnership on a global basis with our events in Asia, Africa and the Americas”
