We are glad to be attending “Geopolitics of the Energy Transition”, an online event that will be held on June 24 by ISPI – Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale with the collaboration of the UK Embassy in Rome and Enel Foundation.

The event falls under the umbrella of All4Climate – Italy 2021, a lineup of climate events within COP 26, taking place in Italy this year, that aim to foster proactive dialogue on the challenges of the climate crisis and deliver on the objectives of the Paris Agreement. “Geopolitics of the Energy Transition” will tackle the new concept of energy security that is emerging as the world shifts to clean energy sources and countries increase energy independence. A leadership model based on knowledge – rather than commodities – is key in order to make clean energy more accessible for all. The conference will delve into the socio-economic, commercial, security and foreign policy implications of the shift, highlighting the role that governments and multilateral forums – particularly COP26 and the G20 – can play.

Roberto Cingolani, Italian Minister for Ecological Transition, will deliver a keynote speech. Jill Morris, UK Ambassador in Italy, Giampiero Massolo, President of ISPI and Michele Crisostomo, Chair of Enel and of the Scientific Committee of Enel Foundation, will chair the welcoming remarks, followed by a day of sessions attended by key speakers and experts of the sector.
