March 23, 2022
The World Meteorological Day takes place every year on March 23rd to commemorate the Convention establishing the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). It showcases the essential contribution of National Meteorological and Hydrological Services for the safety and wellbeing of society and is celebrated with activities around the world.
On this remarkable occasion, Enel Foundation is glad to announce a newly established partnership with the World Meteorological Organization. The collaboration aims to foster research activities to tackle areas of mutual interest, including the development of technical analyses, data gathering and common publications on topical weather, climate or water-related services.
Together with the WMO, we will engage in dissemination and outreach projects exploiting synergies in education programs. The progress and results of this partnership will be shared along the way, involving WMO Member States and Territories and the international community at large.
Dr. Carlo Papa, Managing Director of Enel Foundation, commented: “we are grateful to Professor Petteri Taalas, WMO Secretary-General and his wonderful team for our partnership and honored to serve WMO the essential compass for humanity in the race for adaptation and mitigation”.
