The Italian Forum of Energy Communities (IFEC) was launched over a year ago by WEC Italia and Energy Center at Politecnico di Torino (Turin Polytechnic University) with Enel Foundation as Knowledge Partner.
The Second National Conference of Energy Communities was held on 22 November at the Federico II University Congress Centre in Naples.
During the conference, crucial themes were discussed, such as the legislative framework, organisational models for the creation and management of Renewable Energy Communities and Collective Self-Consumers, the role of energy citizens, and digital management platforms for Energy Communities. Other areas examined included the implications regarding distribution networks and storage systems, the social role of Renewable Energy Communities and new enterprise organisations, and the potential available for the various local organisations, monitoring systems and data communications.
Before the Conference a networking dinner amongst the members of the Forum was held, with the participation of Carlo Papa, Managing Director of Enel Foundation, who highlighted the importance of promoting this cooperation for the development of Italian Energy Communities in a keynote speech.
