Overview
Christian holds an M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Trento and a Master’s Degree in Planning and Management of Renewable Energy Systems from the University of Pisa.
He began his professional career in 2006 in the R&D departments of the Spanish companies Repsol and Endesa, contributing to research projects focused on biofuel optimization and renewable energy grid integration. He subsequently joined the R&D and Innovation Units of Enel, where he worked on technology-related, policy and regulatory aspects of innovative renewable energy projects. During this period, he also participated in working groups of European associations and Joint Undertakings focused on energy storage, fuel cells, and hydrogen. In addition, he managed research projects within the Enel-MIT partnership, serving as a Visiting Research Affiliate at MIT.
Christian later joined Enel Foundation for an initial extended period, leading a number of research initiatives on topics including the sustainability of energy production systems, universal energy access, and climate-proofing of energy infrastructures. He also managed training and capacity-building projects, contributing, among other initiatives, to the development and implementation of the first editions of Open Africa Power, the Enel Foundation training program dedicated to future African leaders of the energy transition. In parallel, he supported the launch and management of the Enel Global Academic Partnership Program, an open innovation initiative aimed at fostering industry-academia research and educational collaboration in the energy sector through the implementation of joint strategic projects and the organization of international meetings and symposia.
Afterwards, expanding the expertise gained in managing Enel-Academic Partners events, he moved to the Enel Group internal communication area to collaborate in the design and delivery of flagship internal campaigns and events, such as the Annual Convention. Following this intensive and formative experience, Christian rejoined Enel Foundation in September 2026 to pursue a further phase of research activities.
