Simone Martinelli

Overview

Simone Martinelli holds a PhD in economic history (Bari University, 2004) and a Master’s Degree cum laude in economics of art (“La Sapienza” Rome University, 1999).

In 2001 he started his professional career in Thales Alenia Space in the Administration Finance and Control Department as Remote Sensing Division controller and Integration of Scientific Satellites Division controller, then he moved to Alitalia Express as Head of Management Control and then joined Autostrade per l’Italia as Head of Control for the concessionary motorways.

Hired by Enel (Rome) in 2010, he served for 4 years in the Administration Finance and Control Department of Enel Green Power as Operation & Maintenance Italy Controller. In 2014 he moved to Holding Sustainability department dealing with the analysis of socio- economic and environmental impacts of sustainability projects, Creating Shared Value tools, sustainability projects reporting and ESG risks assessment.

From 2004 to 2016 he collaborated as assistant lecturer in the Departments of Economic History and Modern-Contemporary History of the Faculties of Philosophy and Political Sciences of the Sapienza University, publishing several articles and essays in international journals.

He joined Enel Foundation in February 2022 as Senior Researcher.
